A warning to avoid a recruiter calling himself James Zhang or Frank Zhang. I've seen many other first-name aliases on other sites.

This person posts ads around the Internet, posing as a school, usually presenting something that sounds too ideal. I believe he recruits only for unlicensed schools. From my brief dealings with him and from other reports he should be classed as a genuine con artist to be shunned.

EDIT: I have just discovered this man advertising on jobschina.net and presenting himself as Mr. Alin Buuer (sic). He is also requesting resumes to be posted at [email protected], so that's another place to not go.

EDIT #2: I have now found this man advertising himself as "Dragon Zhang". Catchy.

EDIT #3: This man uses at least these 3 websites in trolling for teachers:
www.tefl.cc
www.chinatefl.net
www.teach-in-chinha.net

EDIT #4:
Just an update. Mr. 'Frank Zhang' wrote back to tell me that he would not answer my questions because he was too busy, and that he would not hire me because I am too much trouble. He also wrote again to say that he is 'just a Chinese lawyer' and his father is CEO of PBS Shanghai. I replied that if he were really a lawyer his contract would'nt have been so useless, and that I knew for a fact his father was not the head of PBS. He replied with some obscenities and that's the last I've heard.

I have posted on my website some information and commentary that might be instructive - a copy of one of his ads and his offered contract - both with my commentary. I also have some tips and information on checking schools and negotiating teaching contracts. This may save you some trouble.

Cheers,
Larry

Hey Larry:
I thought you might enjoy this little tidbit. For the past few weeks, I have been negotiating with a Chen Wenjie at Guangdong Medical College. The job sounded really great. The town is a southern coastal town.

However, I became suspect after I read one of your posts and noticed her email is [email protected]. The second red flag was when I was directed to fly into Shanghai Pudong International Airport for a job in Zhanjiang. Admittedly, I am not the best with geography but from what I can ascertain from a map of China, that would be like flying into New York for a job in Alabama. Okay, at this point, I ask for email addresses of teachers. I am given one - a Mr. Kris Cooper. Low and behold, when I type it in, in parenthesis is "Frank Zhang."

I would like to thank you for alerting me to the possibility of a scam.

Cheers,
Tyson Razz
