I will be vacationing in Phuket for two weeks over christmas. I'd like to look around for a teaching gig. My contract in Korea expires in August 2006. Has anyone got any suggestions?
I've been there before. I'd like to make it my home.

To be honest, I doubt that anyone will take your interest too seriously - until much closer to August. As you might guess, many people visit the island, get quite taken by it - and start to think seriously about living there - but never return. The schools, of course, know this.

Time would be well spent though, networking and finding people who teach on the island - and asking them about the good and not so good employers and about the best time to come to look for work.

I live there five months per year - at the moment - expect to be back full time soon! My wife, home, cat, car, motorbike, etc. are all on the island.

A strong "maybe" - how about that? I am heading to the States - then will be on the island on the 1st - but not ready for any socializing for a few days.
