In september this low ranking college in qingdao promised me a contract and textbooks.im still waiting.they just hired two twenty year yead old from usa to save a few pennies and exert more control.they care nothing about their students. the college is run for the sole benefit of the party and senior teachers.even the new chinese teachers might quit in jan.if you encourage the good students to take the toefl or ielts beware you will be terminated for developing new leaders that the party has no control over.students are allowed to sleep in class,do hair styling,insult teachers,eat three course meals at their desk.they wont tell you but most of your classes will be at the new campus 40 minutes from the downtown old campus.split days-they give students a two hour lunch break.also you must go to the new campus for the weekly english corner.dont sign- dont arrive without asking the school for the phone nmbers of at least two native speaking teachers.

please ask them if the students had textbooks in sept-oct-nov 2005.

When I was applying for a position with them 2 years ago it was 3,000 RMB a month with on-campus accomodation. I don't remember about the airfare but I am very sure it was round-trip after one year. So it's obviously they are using the "high" salary to attract unsuspecting FT's. The apartment I saw was that of a beautiful Japanese teacher's but I recall feeling it was some ghetto apartment. But I do remember the main campus' student population is mainly females and I did meet some of them during summer 2003 when quite a few of them worked as TA's at what is now Qingdao IELTS a couple blocks to the east of the college. |

| This school sounds like my school . Qingdao University of Science and Technology . Your place sounds good . Three course meals during class. Where do I go to sign up . |
