| I have had contact with the Culturlingua in Guadalajara...they are a small chain in that part of Mexico. They seemed pretty well-run, in a nice setting with resources. Never heard a complaint about them. |

Unfortunately the Job Information Journal has been taken away, but there was some information on there saying that Culturlingua Zamora is not connected to other Culturlinguas around the place.
I met someone who worked for Culturlingua Zamora once. She said it was a nice enough place, and the employers were ok, but they didn't really pay enough to have any spare money at the end of the month. This would mean that if you didn't like the shared living arrangements you probably wouldn't be able to afford to move out.
Good luck!

I taught at Culturlingua in Zamora for one semester and if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have gone.
Basically the school has very high standards of what they expect from the teachers, but you will not get very much satisfaction in return.
Obviously you will not make much money teaching in Mexico and the daily monotony of life was trying on many of the teachers (there is not much to do in the city).
While you are there, the school expects that your life will be teaching and lesson planning, etc. So, if you want to focus on teaching it is a good opportunity, but it is definetly not a holiday.
money- you will not save any, at all. Its actually not that cheap to live in Mexico, so you will make enough to get by and get out of town once in a while. The money will be insignificant compared to a job in Asia. |
