I intend to be in HCMC this winter and plan on taking a teaching certification course while there, and most likely staying for no less than a year to teach. I have a TON of questions, but one in particular that I'd love someone with some experience there to answer for me(more than one, technically...):
What's the best certification program?! I've applied to the TEFL International School in HCMC(TESOL Cert), but I'm unaware of whether there are better options. Also, would I be wiser to obtain certification at home? Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any help! |

Hi
I'm in Thailand at the moment so I can't help you with specifics,
although TEFL International is a fine choice, imho.
For comparison's sake, you could also look at:
1. the CELTA at Language Link in Hanoi
http://www.languagelink.edu.vn/celta.asp
and / or
2. the Text-and-Talk cert at AULI in HCMC

The CELTA is now also offered through ILA in HCMC also. |

My pleasure Kent The program has only been available for a few months now through ILA. I'm not sure how the program is, but there are plenty of good materials and a lot off classes offered already through the school.
TEFL International also just moved into a new building in Phu Nhuan District and has upgraded its facilities ten fold.
Both are month long courses and should be good positive training grounds for a new teacher into the ESL world. |
