Hi to all and I hope this is not a redundant post. I plan to stay 5 or 6 nites in Tokyo (coming from the land of car bombs for a well-needed vacation) b4 going north to ski 10 days around Niseko. ...lovely place Niseko. anyway, I have always heard that Tokyo has great small jazz clubs and blues clubs. I am now 40ish so looking for a break from Roppongi, you know. Cheap or pricey doesn't matter really.
Also any cool coffee/bagel shops with original atmosphere would be nice. I guess I ll be staying near Asakusa (Taito) but can get around no problem. if any reccomended places have web pages would be good to have URL.
a side note, I have to cross Tokyo bay on Sunday 1/29 to trot 42 kms around Tateyama (Chiba) with hordes of nihonjin . any advice on quickest way 'cross the bay?
cheers, Ezo sheh'bab |

Good cafe with NYC style art is Ben's Cafe in Takadanobaba. Near the station, probably has website. But, if you ask most of the students wandering around (it's a Waseda hangout), they probably can point you in the right direction. |
