I am looking for a real one, not plastic. I bought a small live one in a pot last year at the Misir Carsi and it is now in the little park near my house. However, the pickin's were really slim last year so I am wondering if there are other options that are not too far away. any ideas? |

There are a bunch of fıdanlık along E5 out by my house (Beylikdz)-- I got mine there. But it's a live tree in a pot which I'll use again next year if it doesn't die. I felt better not having to murder a tree.... |

there is a small garden very close to Sisli Migros ( on the way to KAlp Vakfı Hastanesi ) where they sell different kinds of trees and plants . I saw some there. |

Yes that's why I always get a fake tree. |

In my first xmas in Atakoy, I discovered an artificial tree in the spare toilet *beep* junk cupboard. It was astonishingly primitive: a broom handle, wrapped in brown packing tape, with wires sticking out. The wires had been covered in feathers, each of which had been painstakingly painted green; and on the end of each wire, a little brown plastic bobble had been added. My flatmates put it up, using a shoebox as a stand, and decorated it with some cheap baubles.
At a distance, through squeezed up eyes and a blear of alcohol, with the lights turned down, we agreed that it looked almost totally crap.
what still amazes me is the clear amount of labour-intensive care and attention that had gone into making something so rubbish. |

If my tree dies, I won't be sure if I murdered it by my own hand, due to either over-caring or neglect, or if it died because it came from a fıdanlık at the side of the freeway.... |
