Greetings,
I am planning on going to Turkey ASAP to teach English and I'm wondering which are the best schools (all though I suppose this is quite subjective) and if anyone knows specifically who is hiring right now. I have a phone interview with English Time soon (I have read the mostly bad things people have said about them. Are they true? Does this matter?). I am not going to Turkey to make money. What is the best website for Turkish ESL job postings? Thank you to those who reply.

I also have a phone interview with English Time soon - tonight actually, at 3am my time. I have heard good and bad about many schools so I guess it's really a personal choice at to which is the "best". It all depends on what you want to get out of this experience, though making money wouldn't be bad.

Any one care to define that word "school " . So-called language schools should be exempted from this IMHO .

Start with a minimum "package " before you consider ANY "school" .

"School" is another relative term.

Unless it's for fish.

A 'fish school' is not without its own problems of definition ... how many fish make a school?

Yeah, and what if it's a bunch of fish hanging out together but not actually schooling?

All the things you have heard about these language centers are, for the most part, true. Most of the stories have been someone's experience. It is really difficult to judge places so far away. I understand you want to come here, and the people that feed you the best line, promise you the nicest things will lure you to their school.. but you must have a back up plan, just in case you are not happy at their center. Your back up plan should include lodging if you are living in one of their places. If they do not like you, or if you do not like them, don't expect them to give you a couple weeks or month to move out of their place. There are many language centers here, and they are hiring new back packers all the time. It is not hard to find work. Good luck

Isn't chum semi-rotten fish guts and other fish parts that you use for bait? Maybe I'm confusing it with another word. Also you can dump it around the boat to attract fish, but my grandfather always told us that chumming was cheating.

On the coast of Oregon you can buy buckets of chum for crab fishing, and it's seriously rank but the crabs think it's a little piece of heaven.
