I'm in Hong Kong now and considering that I might want to work and teach here. Only question is: is it possible to get a job in HK with my credentials? I have a BA English (USA University) and two years TEFL experience in China. Anyone have any idea on if I can make a real living here and where I should look? Also, what kind of salary might I expect?
Thanks much. |

I'm afraid to say that I don't really fancy your chances. They are many, many people wanting to work with many more qualifications than you and vastly more experience. Maybe Shenzhen would be better for you. You could try a placement agency like Language Tree or something though, maybe they could place you at a school.

If you have CELTA quals try phoning the British Council...you might get lucky. If not, check out the SCMP education vacancies (every Saturday or SCMP.com). There are plenty of people working here and getting by with your sort of background...but it is getting harder. |
