| I currenttly have a PNC bank account here in the states. will i still be able to use that in Japan or will i have to open another one?? I will be working for ECC, how will I ge paid ...by check ? do I deposit that in my current bank account. My atm card has cirrus plus which means i can use it internationally. |

Japanese do not use check accounts and you will be asked to open a bank account with a Japanese bank. From this account you can also pay your utilities and bills by automatic payment. Salaries are paid by direct credit to your Japanese bank account.
This is japan, you better get used to going native rather than relying on your connections and ties back home. If you want to use your Cirrus account you will likely have to transfer it manually as the Japanese ATMs are not connected to foreign banks, though I believe you can send money via the Post Office ATMs. |

| If your card has the cirrus symbol you can use it 24hrs a day at any seven 11 convience store. You can also use it at the post office when they are open. |
