| Just curious as to when your required to start teaching again after the Chinese New Year break and what type of school it is ? I've noticed some differences for various schools. |

February 27. I have an eight-week winter break.
[EDITED] Public college of about 4,000 students, 95% of which are Mongolians.

At this college, classes resume on the last Monday in February, the 27th.
Classes finished on January 6th and I finished marking exams that weekend.
That makes it 7 weeks. Wow, I should do this math more often. Tarzan like. |

- me too.
And so it should be: longer holidays for the Uni teachers than for the School teachers messaging here.
We have more stress!!
Grading 600 non-English major Freshmen in Conversational English in 2 weeks (over the New Year - so suffering typical Chinese administrative chaos over when and where I saw the students). THAT is the kind of stress I never had when teaching either Junior or Senior Middle School here.
I was just wheeled out to perform my oral English tricks and make my Chinese English teachers have good faces. |

pick up new class schedules Feb. 17
classes start Feb 20.
private college.
note: usually we have Winter English camp but not enough
time this year, so we actually get a break of about 4 weeks.
which means we will have a really crazy Summer English camp. |

classes ended for me Jan 13, grades are due Jan 23.... grading is going to not be a fun job. Oral english has been evaluated, and just need to complie everything together with their attendance.
Writing on the other hand is a nightmare. I'll just leave it at that.
I go back Feb 20...
Next semester I will only be teaching 10 hours. From the 3-8 week I dont have 2 hours because the students will be doing their practice teaching! And after the 10th week, I will only have 2 hours a week cause the students are graduating! However, I am teaching writing for 10 weeks. And that is a lot of papers to look at.
Looking forward to next semester and surving the next week to finish grading the writing. |

Next terms schedules were given to us last week. Woo-hoo, planning and organization do exist in China! |

| Finished December 30th start back March 1st. 8.5 weeks. Hey it is a tough stint but someone has to do it. Also get 10 weeks in summer and the other 3 weeks throughout the year! (Hmmm, do I really work?) |
