In the Hi-Tech district in Xi'an where I work, we have to do a "daily english" lesson for about 600 students during their morning exercises. We've been teaching them things like "just kidding," "cheque please," "ripoff" and other useful/ess phrases. I'll probably end the year with a "kiss my ass" or similar anectote. When I do, I'll make sure and post the video clip on here.

Anyone else have a gig that requires a similar 'act' that wastes 15 minutes of your day?

If so, post some of the things you've taught.

I could think of one and most would probably agree. These pointless weekly activities know as English Corner. I don't want to be there, the other teachers don't want to be there and the students don't want to be there.

Ah yes, "English Cornered". Highlight of the week.
That and "guest" [read indentured labor] lectures and teaching methodology to Chinese English teachers. Rolling Eyes

Actually, English and morning "exercise" would go well together. Wholehearted, purposeful..........yi er san si, one two three four.
What a buzz.
