Some of the universities on the West Bank used to hire native speaker teachers. Bir Zeit ?


VSO or one of the other linked organisations (eg CIIR ?) used to send people and may still do.

Not a lot available though - and it could be quite stressful. Everyone will think you are working for someone else if you get my drift. Paanoia is the norm in Palestine.

I believe that it is Birzeit that advertises quite often for English teachers. This was on their website:

I have heard that the main problem with working there is that you are unable to get a work visa, so you have to make a visit to Jordan every few months to get a new stamp. But, the person who told me that also recommended the place and said that there were many dedicated people there.

It sounds like a place for people who are not as concerned about making money as making a difference.
