Just wondering when schools in Tokyo re-open in the new year? One of the schools I am applying to told me to call them in the new year, so I am wondering when offices in Tokyo re-open in 2006? |

Couldn't say if all schools in Japan have the same schedule for winter break. My own school in Sapporo returns on Jan. 12th. |

If you are talking about conversation schools it varies and most Tokyoites are heading back to Tokyo today and start work tomorrow. I work at a university and start work again on Friday.
I would call again tomorrow (Wednesday) or Thursday if you hope to reach anyone. |

I start working again tomorrow.
The JR trains have been operating on their holiday schedule for New Year's. Today is the last day of the holiday schedule for the trains, so I'm guessing most companies are also resuming regular working hours on the 4th. |
