Has anyone heard of the website - Jobsindubai.com? Is this company a reputible one? After I applied online, they emailed me asking me for a refundable fee for basically their administrative costs. Did anyone have any bad and/or good experiences with Jobs in Dubai website? Please provide your experience, if any. Thanks!
YOur input is highly appreciated! |

They offer what seem very good jobs with above average salaries. As I remember, they are based in Canada (?) and you have to pay something from your first salary. Most recruiters for the UAE have a more open system where potential employees don't pay. I would therefore avoid them. If they want to recruit for the UAE, they should accommodate the systems of other recruitment agencies. I was tempted by an English teaching job for a bank group through them. Salary was much higher than I get now but a "once bitten" colleague warned me off.
Good luck

So does anyone have any experience with a reputable site?
I am searching for a job in the creative industries. Can anyone suggest a place I could pitch my 12yrs experience in F&TV, SFX, directing photo internet TVads to? |

Isn't there a specialist site for your profession? The only web-site I can think of that might help you is http://media.guardian.co.uk/
They have a jobs section. If you're specifically looking to come to the UAE, keep an eye out for jobs at Dubai Media City or Dubai Internet City, but I don't think there's a central recruiting organisation for them - it's up to individual companies that are based there. |

Basically you pay 30 something (over 100 dirhams) then a huge chunk of you celery once you get here (sic. sic. (wrong place) but only 1 time. They haven't responded with anything and I'm beginning to want my dollars back, others have delt with them said it was a scam. I just don't know what to say but maybe something will turn up before I proceed with the refund which I hope will be soon. |

DON'T even think to apply through them.
Last Feb i applied for a job, they asked for money... i gave it to them , after they got the money they said in 2 -3 weeks you are going to hear from us. since then, not a word.... i e-mailed them saying what is going on, they said, and i qoute "thank you for your email below. We have forwarded your resume to employers but have not received any information from them regarding any possible interviews; once we do we will send you the details via email."
since then i e-mailed them about 3 times, and nothing.. they don't reply anymore... so for whoever is thinking of applying through them, DON"T do it.... my 6 month period is going to end on August, i'm going to hammer them with e-mails to give me my money back. |

There is a good standard rule in the Gulf outside of KSA.
NEVER use agencies of any kind... only apply through the institution that you wish to work for... the folks who will be paying your salary and getting you the work visa.
AVOID all others... they are almost always scams. At best they provide positions with the dregs of employers.

tefl.com is very good; no "registration fee" or "administration payment." |

The key with internet job sites or employment agencies is - if you have to pay any kind of fee, don't bother wasting your time or money... |

Business sector: there are, however, some very reputable Dubai-based, British-run employment agencies for business-sector jobs. My wife got a good job through them. |

Reputable agencies insist on the ability to spell or use a spellchecker.
In many countries (UK,US) it is ILLEGAL for an agency to charge a fee to the would-be-employee.
Stay away from these people. |
