Hi, Im new to this forum and was hoping I could ask for some advice.

I passed my CELTA this year and was looking forward to going (through a reputable agency) to W. Europe to teach English. I was naive to think it would be easy to find a job, and have found that the countries I was hoping to go to have all been snapped up. Everyone seems to want teachers with degrees and experience (i have neither)

I have only just started to think about E. Europe, Poland in particular, and wondered if I could have any feedback from anyone who has had experience teaching/living there.

Thanks

Why don't you post your query on the Poland board? You might get more responses.
I taught for a year in Poland('98-99) at an NKJO(teachers college). You will not make very good money anywhere in eastern Europe, but the money in Poland is better than, for example Czech.
i would proceed with caution with any private schools,if I were you. Some are legit.A lot are not.
Poland can be lots of fun.Suggest you try somewherebesides Warsaw. It is expensive, dirty and dangerous.Krakow is a lot nicer, but also expensive.
Wroclaw is a nice city in western Poland. Also,Kozsaling and Kolbrgzeg up on the Baltic Coast are nice.
Tjey are Eu.If you are EU,you should not have any problems getting the work permit.Well, other than the customary red tape.Good luck. Smile
