I will be moving to Turkey in the near future. I have three questions:
What is needed to open a bank account?
Which banks are reliable?
Which banks are not reliable?
Thanks for your input. |

I've been using Finansbank and I'm pretty happy with them. However, they require residence permit and tax number in order to open an account with them. You can try Garanti or Dis Bank (recently bought by Fortis) where you only need your passport for that. |

I think most of the banks are reliable these days. I bank with Koc Bank and I have been happy with their services. I wire money to the US every month and they are helpful with that. They also have internet banking. However, they may need a residence permit to open an account. I think Yapi Kredi accepts only passports, but they were bought by Koc so it may have changed. |
