im heading down there in less then 10 days (yikes!!) as im gathering everything up im wondering if anyone can offer some advice (perhaps to eliviate my nervousness) of not forgetting something...
once i arrive in san jose, i plan to check out to check into some time of place (hotel/ bed and breakfast) and check out the schools in san jose area, then head up to heredia and alajulia.. maybe even towards the western coast? i have a couple interviews set up but do you think schools would also hire me on the spot if i show up with certifications, ba degree and resume of experience in teaching? i would love to work by the coast. any recomendations in finding a school in that region?
once i find a school i will look into apartments in the area.. and hopefully settle in.
what am i missing? what should i not leave home without (or without doing?)? any advice on my planning?
also... what might be reasonable pay concidering i have a ba degree in elementary education, esl certification and experience.
gracias!

Wouldnt we all love a job teaching on the coast! Unfortunately they are few and far between and dont pay as well as the central valley.
Your qualifications are great but most schools will have already started their January terms. However, students who wait till the last minute to enrol in classes could create a need for more teachers. Schools may hire you on the spot but make sure youre in the area you want to be and getting the pay you deserve.
good luck
