I put this query on another thread and got one (encouraging) response, but I�d like more opinions just in case, so here it is again with its own thread:

I�ve been overstaying my visa since April and I�m quite confident that if I cross the border to Chile and then cross back, then everything will be fine. (loads of people I know have done it without problems)

However, at the end of Feb I�ll be taking some internal flights. Does anyone know if they�ll check my visa for those? If they do, will they just let me pay the fine and continue on my way?
