Thanks to all who responded to my questions regarding a 40 hour work week. It really helps to hear from those who have gone before. I'd like to hear more about your experiences juggling work and travel. Is lack of time to travel a common problem? How about the lack of money? I'd especially like to hear from anyone who has taught in Thailand, Vietnam, Argentina or Chile. Good or bad experience, I want the truth. And your wrong, I CAN handle the truth.

If you work in Thailand or Vietnam, I think you will be limited to traveling within the country. In these countries you will get paid around $800 U.S. a month. I am sure that someone who lives in Thailand can give you a better figure but you probably will only save $200 a month working in Thailand. So that gives you $2400 for a year. So whatever traveling you can manage on $2400, is what traveling you will be able to do.

If you would like to work in Korea you could save half of your salary. The salary is usually around $2000 U.S. a month. So you can save $1000 a month for a year. At the end of the year you will have $12000 and travel southeast asia for a long time. When you get tired of traveling you can find another job in Korea. I have heard of people who travel for 6 months with the money they saved during their first year of work. If you get a job in Seoul it might be harder to save since there are more temptations in Seoul. If you live in the country side then you will be hard pressed to find much to spend your money on unless you go buy a car or new computer.
