I am going to have a 2 day layover in Taipei next month and was wondering if any of you good folks knew of a decent, centralized hotel that is easy to get to from CKS. I'll have my family with young kids, so I should emphasize easy to get to. Someone recommended the YMCA, which looks good, but I wouldn't mind if there was something a little cheaper (2200NT for a double). I have no idea if this on par with other places having never been to Taiwan.
Also, any ideas on what we could do during our short stay, like an interesting market?
Thanks |

I would recommend looking at the hotels in the train station area (Chung Hsiao East Road). This page has a list of some of them:

You should visit the National Palace Museum, one of the greatest museums in the world. A night market, such as Shih Lin night market, would be worth the trip as well. |

| Thanks, I'll have a look at the link. I've heard the national museum is one not to miss, lots of Chinese loot that Kai Shek took. |
