Hi all, hope someone can help me out with some information...
My wife and I are looking into moving to HCMC to do a Tefl course this year, May in fact. Everything looked rosey until all the hullabaloo hit about this crackdown on teachers. We go to several message boards and have heard just about every opinion, 'fact' and connotation possible, which basically all add up to us being none the wiser. We've decided to get every document possible, lots of notarised copies, even a letter from my mam, har har...
My one concern at the moment is the criminal record check. Unfortunately I have a conviction from many years ago which is still on file. Does anyone know if that would make me instantly refused a permit? Is the procedure that the UK authorities contact the Vietnamese authorities directly, or is the record check something I would have a hard copy of to present upon arrival? Hope someone can help. Cheers, Jamie |
