please help me
i have a degree but no celta or tefl certification
what is the difference between the two and which one do i need to teach in south america?
are there any good courses online i can take that are reasonably priced?

A CELTA is one particular kind of TEFL certificate--sort of a "brand name." You need a TEFL certificate to teach in most places--although there are some snobby schools (in my opinion!) that only accept teachers with a CELTA.

The problem with online courses is that you don't do a supervised practicum: pretty essential for someone who hasn't taught before!
Otherwise its a bit like learning to drive online.
However, this one doesn't seem to be expensive and does claim [my emphasis] to be accredited.

Many schools aren't too fussed which parchment you have, but CELTA is the best known brand name.
