Due to some sudden circumstances I have to leave my job in Tepic and return to the US, so for those of you job-searching... It's about 20 hours a week (possibly more to come) M-F with pay average for this region, plus the director is nice and the classes are small and attentive. Tepic is pretty cheap and an hour from the beach. The director wants at least a TEFL certificate and I feel bad about having to take off so suddenly and so am posting here...here's his email:

What's Tepic like? I met someone once who had been there and thought it was lovely, but she was 75 years old and had slightly different needs to mine. Wink

Tepic is a city of about 250,000 (at least that's my estimate). There are several large parks and lots of kid-friendly activities. The climate is pretty mellow, which I'm guessing is why your 75 year old friend thought it was nice since I've met a couple of retirees who love that about this city.

I'm not much for the nightlife myself so I can't comment on that but the Universidad Autnoma de Nayarit is here along with the Institut Tecnolgico de Tepic and prepas and language schools. There are a few retirees here, but the city is really not Westernized or full of foreigners or whatever you want to call it. It seems a lot of people here have spent time in the US working and then returned to Mexico. I find everyone interested in me and what I'm doing here and pretty friendly. As I mentioned earlier, beautiful Pacific sunsets are only an hour away Smile which is a nice bonus.
