I am a French-American guy moving to Buenos Aires in early Feb. Unfortunately, since I'm entirely new to the place, my friend count is currently nil. I plan on staying in a hostel before finding a longer term place. Is there anyone who's living in a hostel and would like another non-backpacker to hang out with? Is there anyone coming to Buenos Aires at the same time as me and who might have the same problem? I consider myself to be fairly decent company, but I'll let you be the judge of that Smile

I know this might appear ridiculous, but I'm sure you've all experienced it in big cities.

Georges, I think it's fairly common to feel this way when moving to a new place. What will you be doing in Buenos Aires? I think you'll find that it won't be that difficult to meet new people. I've never lived in Buenos Aires, but have moved around WAY too much, and have always met people who were very welcoming. Even in the hostel, you'll probably meet some people. I will be in the same situation as you, but not until early March, so if you're still around then and would like to hang out, that would be cool...

I will be in the same situation as you come the beginning of March. I am planning on going to Buenos Aires to work on my spanish and hopefully pick up some hours teaching. If anybody is up for hanging out or doing some excursions together, let me know as I also don't know a soul down there.

what are you guys going to be doing there in March? I'm coming mainly to learn Spanish, but hope to get some hours teaching English as well. I'll probably take the UBA Spanish course.
