Hey, I'm currently living and teaching in Queretaro, but I'm planning on going to Guadalajara at the end of Feb. Can anyone give me some advice about schools or Universities I could contact, or any info at all would be great, like what neighborhoods are good, finding housing, youth hostels I could stay in when I first get there, etc. etc.
Thanks

Hi,

A good place to look for housing is the following website.
http://www.mexplaza.com.mx

Also good places to look are the newspapers. I always looked in the Mural and the Informador. Further you can look at big shopping malls like Bodega Aurera or churches where they have often a board with ads.

Also we have a school where we teach English and Spanish. At the moment we have enough teachers but you can always ask before you get here if anything is available.

Vila Santa, cheap, fun, comfy, everything you need included in the price, really fabulous service. Not a good place to practice your Spanish, though, filled with ESL teachers in training at ITTO. We called it Hotel California cuz no one ever seemed to leave! Smile

Hello,

I'm recruiting 3 English teachers for a school in Guadalajara
(Pre-school thru 9th grade)... Pay is around $8000 per month starting in August 2006 and your work schedule is 8am-3pm/Mon. thru Friday...

You can also pick up a few after-school classes or private business classes in the late-afternoon for another $2-3000 pesos...

8-10,000 pesos a month in more than sufficient to live anywhere in Mexico.

If your interested in working in Guadalajara send me your resume ASAP.

Regards,
Immanuel
