Ok so its time for the dreaded visa question again, although this one has a slight twist.
Teacher is here nice and legal on a z visa, resident and work permit.

How about his visiting wife who wants to live with him also? What is the best visa for her to get. Preferably 6 month multiple entry. Obtained in Hong Kong. 'L' 'F' or something else completely.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Noodles,
if your wife does not want to work, she can get a business visa, multiple-entry, for up to six months, from PHOENIX in Hong Kong, or a tourist visa, same as above, from JAPAN Travel Ltd., or from CHINA TRAVEL SERVICE (on the corner of Peking Rd., Nathan Rd., second floor).
A tourist visa for six months, multiple-entry, should cost around 400 to 500 HK $.
I do not know if your wife can get a six month, multiple-entry tourist visa from the China visa section in wanchai (they should be the cheapest); to my knowledge, they only have 3-month visas, or visas for even shorter periods.
