|

Well, the apartment in Once has fallen through. The guy who was moving out at the end of January is now not moving out. I've already told the owners of the student residence where I live that I was moving out, and they've rented my room to someone else. So as of Wednesday, I'll be homeless for the third time since I've been here.
Anyone know of any student residences in Capital where I could stay for a month? Anyone know someone who's renting a room in a flat in Capital? Any ideas woud be appreciated. I'm really discouraged and basically at the end of my rope. I'd placed so much hope in that apartment in Once. I was told the guy who lived there had bought a house and was just waiting for the keys to the house ... but that turned out to be untrue.
Sorry to have to post this here on Dave's but I'm kind of desperate ... |

Check out www.craigslist.com ...thats where I found my place last minute
Good luck.
Also - dont sweat it, itll all work out. This big crazy city has put me damn near the end of my rope many a time...but then you bounce back ready to kick its ass! |

That's a total bummer. What's your budget? I agree with VivaBarca that Craig's list is pretty decent, put up an ad of your own (it's free) as I found that it would produce 3-4 replies fairly quickly.
Otherwise you might drop by the Palermo House Hostel on Thames. The owner there has a few apartments that he rents out usually to tourists on a weekly/monthly basis. I stayed in the hostel at the beginning and discussed with him the idea of taking one of these (in Abasto) and he was more than willing to negotiate. In fact by the end it would have been cheaper than what was being offered on Craig's list. If you want more info then pm me. |

The day of miracles has come ... I found a place out of the blue. This German guy in Quilmes bought two houses and converted them into 9 one-room apartments. It's a fully-furnished, one-room apartment for $300 pesos a month. It's here in Quilmes. It's the perfect solution for me. The rest of the apartments will probably have Universidad de Quilmes students in them. After 4 months, I will finally have some privacy ... no more old ladies barging into the bathroom and seeing me naked!
It's a nice little place. Very small, but it's got a bed, fridge, stove, shelves, table/desk, closet, and free cable.
Thank you to everyone who offered help to me! I appreciate it ... very glad things have worked out so well. I was getting really desperate and frantic for a few days there. |
