I just got the craziest message from an old student of mine. I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything strange or cool or interesting from former students.
My story:
I had a private student for a while about five or six years ago, in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was this 17-year-old high school student, and her father was fixin' to be sent to the U.S. by his company. She had private lessons for a while, and then when she left, she actually gave me a Yamaha acoustic guitar which was in pretty good shape (I still have and play it, too).
I never heard from here again...until a few days ago. I didn't know who she was. I vaguely remembered the name.
This morning, I got another message from her, telling me who she was, and of course I remembered. Her story - now she is about 22 years old, and has served one year of a four-year commitment in the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.
Crazy.
Anyone else have weird former student stories? |
