Before moving to Japan, I was a member of the "Ready JET Go!" dragonboat team in Vancouver. This is the JET Alumni Association of BC team, and the majority of the members are alumni. I've been in Japan for nearly a year now, and have been suffering from dragonboating withdrawl the entire time, but unfortunately there do not seem to be any teams within a reasonable commuting distance to me.
This creates a dilemma for me now, as I have been asked by the team to find some information regarding the Yokohama Dragon Boat Festival this year. The team is very interested in entering, but I don't know anyone with any contacts in the dragonboat world in Japan. I am hoping some of you out there might, or know someone who might.
The team is looking for registration information, as well as any information on possible billiting, sponsorship, or exchange opportunities (there are a number of great festivals every year in and around Vancouver!).
I would really appreciate any information, ideas, or leads that anyone can provide!
