Why should I help others? Whats in it for me? I have been cheated by an employer or recruiter even when I DID 100 hours of research so why should someone with 1 hour of research get a better deal than I did? Let them learn the hard way.
As a human being I am familiar with all of the above statements. Other peoples problems dont seem so important when I am worrying about my fat boss paying me on time or not or the water utility lady trying to rip me off again.
But there comes a time when I say screw it. Why should I act petty and lie and cheat just because someone does it to me and why would I refrain from helping others avoid such things? The world has been described as a dog eat dog sort of place. In such a world we are all stuck worrying about our security needs when we could be trying to do something better with our time.
Think about a time when you were flat-out lied to. Now think about a time when you were about to make a decision when at the last second you received a tip that helped you have a wonderful experience for a year.
The market for foreign teaching is changing. We cant just use the same old techniques as we did even 4 years ago and expect to be safe from being exploited.
What ARE the changes and what can we do to stay ahead of the game??? |
