My 1 year working visa is about to expire at the end of February, and I would like to apply for a tourist visa so I can remain in Japan a few more months. I had heard this is a fairly routine procedure however when I called the Immigration Information Bureau the guy told me that I could not apply to get a 90 day tourist visa, only some sort of 15 day extension visa.
Does anyone know exactly how to go about changing to a 90 day tourist visa? I will be in Hong Kong for 7 days a week prior to my current visa expiring, so is it as simple as changing my status upon re-entry to Narita? Any help would be much appreciated. |
