Hey there, I'm moving to Shanghai on Feb 7th to teach. I've been talking to my friends teaching there for the last couple months and finding out about schools, where to live, what to avoid, etc.
Don't have all that much time right now, but if you want to chat on aim, msn, or email send me a PM with your info and I'll let you know about what I know. I can also fill you in on my experiences there one I arrive and start working.
Regards,
Ebola Ayatollah |

that'd be cool. my email is [email protected] drop me a line and let me know how its going. are you american? i have been a teacher before in asia and middle east, but both the red tape and job placement was done for me because i was a peace corps volunteer, so figuring out all of this out on my own, is totally a new thing for me. thanks. hope to hear from you! |

I worked for a pretty decent outfit on the SW fringe of Shanghai. Pm me for more.
Generally speaking, you're best to wait until next semester [Feb onwards] to talk to schools, as they're closing down now for the holiday.
If you want to arrive in July you should try to line up summer camp work which will give you accomm, some money, and a chance to orientate. |
