First of all, a massive Thank You to Dave Sperling for this board and another massive Thank You to everyone who have kept this board so interesting, so lively, so endearing, and so very useful.

This is my first posting so I hope you'll indulge me in my giddiness.
I arrived in KSA last Sept. I teach English at one of the universities.

My only regret (so far) is that I wish I had known about this board before I signed the dotted line. As it was, I thought I had fairly good terms and was quite happy with the conditions but, after schlepping through some of the posts here, I could have fought for a better deal.

Anyway, water under the bridge... Now, I know better...

Suffice to say that this board will be a lifeline for me (for my sanity, most especially, given what I have read so far....)

I guess your giddiness over finding this board is indicative of the excitement of your life in KSA.

Plenty of folks on here who can help you out with information about various locations there. Don't be concerned that you didn't get the best contract ever... it is your first there and the key is getting the foot in the door in the Middle East.

One more month and you can consider yourself a veteran and offer advice to others.
