I am wondering if there are any popular pubs or places in Taipei to meet other teachers who are willing to share their wisdom.
I tried posting this on the newbie forum, but got no replies. Is it a secret?

Yes Sophia, it is a big secret! I know what you mean though, I found it hard to find other foreigners to hang out with at first. If you're around the Shi Da area, try bar 45 (on Hoping East Road) or Roxy Jr Cafe (on ShiDa Road). These places are popular for foreigners and I'm sure on a saturday night after a few lemonades you'll get those pearls of wisdom you're after. Good luck!! |

Citizen Cane on Thursday nights is pretty good to meet other TEFL'ers.
Also, a lot of EFL'ers hang out at Bliss, formerly Chocolate and Love.
You might also try the Brass Monkey to meet foreigner teachers - Thursday is ladies night with free booze for the women! |

I agree with this one. Shep and Co put on a pretty good show. Burgers rock even more. Watch out for CopShots.
