Hello everyone, I am finally arriving in BA this Friday, and I find myself having a last-minute packing crisis.

The main thing I'm wondering, is: what kind of materials/texts/workbooks should I bring with me? I am TEFL certified but haven't taught before, so I don't own any of these things myself. I have read that many institutes provide texts, but I'd like to have some of my own.
Any specific textbooks/workbooks (or general class of book) you'd all recommend based on your BA teaching experiences? I have little sense for what level of English is in demand--mostly business/conversational English?

Also, have institutes begun hiring yet for the new schoolyear?

On an entirely unrelated note, do men commonly wear shorts there in summer? Some tell me yes, some tell me no.

Help me--please! Looking forward to meeting some of you in BA!

Thanks,

Mike Pursell
