| did any of you make a job hunting trip? if so, how far ahead? and were you able to schedule interviews for yourself before coming to japan? i am in mexico now in a "furnished" apartment and i think i might like to check things out better before accepting a job in japan. |

I got my job while abroad, but the girl I work with came over to look for a job. She was looking for an immediate opening. She contacted the Kimi Information Center in Tokyo and got a few interviews through them. It only took her 11 days to get hired.
My advice would be to be careful. You may run into some sketchy employers that will try to sell you a job. (You guessed it: it happened to me.) Be thorough and specific in the questions you ask them.
