Hello everyone,

I'm having a slight problem understanding how a person who decides to teach in a place such as Taiwan, which requires that you have a round-trip ticket to enter, is able to make this work if the ticket expiration date is one-year max and the contract to teach is one-year (taking into consideration that the ticket time clock begins the day of departure, and assuming that a person has not yet found a job in the place of origin). How does this factor out??Can someone explain this to me...

Additionally, what if a person decides he or she would like to travel and do some exploration before they settle into a teaching position. Maybe I'm not too familiar with the different ticket types and conditions of them.

Can someone enlighten me on the type of ticket (s) that a person would purchase if he or she decided to travel in a specific region of asia for a month or two, but has the ultimate intention of travelling and teaching in another region of asia for a year.

Thanks for any help!

Lisa

Find a good travel agent and explain your situation. You can get an open-ended ticket, or you can get a ticket that will allow you to change your return date or destination (or even get a refund) for a certain fee--I once got this arrangement for free.

If you automatically go for the cheapest fare out there, you may lose out on these things.
