I heard some commentator on BBC the other night refer to some incident in Iraq and use "with guns blaring". Makes one wonder if they will say with "trumpets blazing" next...
Also, oddly there was a news article on BBC about some Argentine navy official they are extraditing from Mexico to Spain to face charges of various grievous abuses during Argentina's "dirty war'.Odd thing,though,BBC kept making references to Pinochet in the news spot,and Pinochet was in CHILE.
Sometimes BBC seems to be a little ....awry.One time,they referred to Mexico as being part of South America.....

They (Judge Garzon) extradited Pinochet to Spain (or tried to, I don't recall); there is a relationship between the events.
