Is there such a thing, or do I need to marry her and bring her in on a dependents visa? She is Asian btw.

Oh and while we are on the subject. If we divorce could she in theory then fly to England, my home, and grab half of all I own?

Just making plans:)

A dependent visa is for married spouses or children. Girlfriends don't count. Not sure why Asian would make any difference and can't help you out with pre-nuptial deal either. That's something you 2 will have to sort out. Laughing

Sid,
Since Asia is not a country, could you tell us your gf's nationality?

As Gordon wrote, there is no such thing as a gf or fiance visa. She comes on her own accord or not at all.

Types of visas open to her
1. tourist (not a visa, really, just a status)
2. student
3. dependent (if you are married and if you are working)
4. cultural (if she studies under a craftsman willing to sponsor her)
5. working holiday (if she is Korean and between 18 and 30)

Thanks Glenski, I thought I was grasping at straws. Thing is that though we are close to getting married it does seem a bit strained to have to push it forward unnaturally as there is no other way of her being here. Well in a way that she coud actually work a bit too. Not ideal but she is well educated and to stay here and do nothing would be far from a healthy enviroment for us both. Oh and she is Thai which does tend to make things harder on the visa front too, so I,ve been told.
