Just got back from a couple of weeks home in England. Loved the food and have porked out lovely jubbly.
But some things ...
Went to Bristol to see my old mates. Rocked up at 12pm in transit with a suitcase, due to hit the pub at five. Wanted to leave it somewhere and have a walk around, but the train station had no left luggage or lockers anymore. So hiked across town to the bus station. Same deal. Oh my God. Terrorists have a lot to answer for. So instead I sat in a park, ate a sandwich and cycled through my kanji cards as I waited for the pub time to arrive. Strange, that it had never bothered me before.
And the following day, wanting to buy a shirt, I stood in a queue behind four other people and listened in dismay as the shop assistant chatted to her mate on the internal phone thing. Only the politeness I seem to have learned dealing with the lovely Japanese stopped me from cracking her round the head with it.
I even found it easier negotiating Narita airport than Heathrow. I love Blighty, but sometimes it can do my nut. You can`t beat a bit of roast beef, though. |

negotiating heathrow is pretty rough, but gatwick is worse in my opinion. come to the states and try navigating through Atlanta's airport. it's ridiculous. and i can't do it and i'm a yank |
