I was wondering about how schools feel generally about teachers asking for a week off to visit home at Christmas? I'm debating whether I should ask them about it in the interview or wait, or just take off at Chrissie and come back and look for a new job?
Going home for Christmas is important to me.
Any advice would be appreciated. |

Can't speak to "generally", but I know of one school - Xtian, natch - that takes that week off, so yes, it's possible.
Airfares tend to be at their highest around that particular holiday.
You will be told of the importance of flexibility in your dealings with Thai schools. You will not always find it reciprocated.
That said, go for it. There are a lot of jobs here, and if one doesn't seem all that keen on the idea, maybe another will find a way to acccomodate your not-too-outlandish desire.
As long as you bring back presents, all will be forgiven.
