Hello all,
I have been offered job teaching at Gunagxi University in Nanning. I would be very happy if someone could spare me a bit of info the the university: i.e. does it have a good reputation, how good is the waiban, are there any special catches etc.

Any info you might have is greatly appreciated

They are THE university in Guangxi and have had western teachers for many years. They are at the northwest edge of the city where the economic zone is and it is probably a 15 minute Taxi ride to the train station and the nearest McDonalds unless there is traffic. Although we have never had a personal relationship with any of the teachers, we have toured the campus and spoken to a few that were teaching there. We have never heard a negative comment about the university although that does not mean there haven't been any. They also have a popular summer program for their students and bring in western teachers for that.

Guangxi is a beautiful province and NanNing is a beautiful city. The people are mostly Zhuang and very, very, friendly.
