If you're thinking of coming to Costa Rica to teach, or if you're already here and are looking for a better place to live, consider taking over our apartment when we leave.
We've lived here for about 6 months and we LOVE this place. This is our second apartment, and although it's not the cheapest place we could find, it is most definitely the nicest. It's in a beautiful historic building in central San Jos� in Barrio Otoya near some of the nicer parks, close to ALL the city buses, and also close to some of the few really worthwhile cultural attractions we've found (we're right across the street from Centro Nacional de la Cultura which has festivals, music, plays and dance performances regularly).
We had to sign a year lease, and although we're leaving in early-mid March, we're going to get our deposit back if we do the work to find someone else to move in. The place is partially furnished & we will gladly sell the furniture (and linens and dishes) that we bought from the guy who was here before us. The place is perfect for a couple, and you'd be able to afford it on 2 teacher's salaries.
