This is something I usually do every couple of years and was just wondering if anyone has gone about doing it over here or has any clue as to how it would be arranged, where it can be done etc.

Hmmm......

Maybe you should re-phrase that. I'll have a go for you....

I slept with somebody I shouldn't and can't stop scratching this morning. I'm really embarrased about it and need to get it cleared up.....quickly !!

Many friends have informed me that STD's are IN FACT a problem here.

No Glove, no Love, is my motto to all the women lining up!

Well, I know that for women there are womens health clinics that do them. No hassles or anything--you just walk in and register. I imagine men have something similar. In fact, I think the mens and womens clinics were next door to each other where I lived.

I hope you're not living in a small town. If you are, I recommend heading to the nearest city and visit a hospital and get yourself checked out.

I have seen ads for dermatologists who deal with "rashes" on genitals. For HIV testing, I would guess that any hospital would be able to do it for you, as they seem eager to draw blood for the slightest little thing.

To the OP:

Knowing where you live in Japan would help us in terms of recommending doctors to you.

Also, every ku in a major city has a hoken center (public health center). They usually provide free STD testing three days a week without an appointment, at least in Osaka.

This is a link you might be interested in, if you're based in Osaka.

I live in Okinawa and just about everyone I have ever slept with in my entire life is someone I shouldn't have slept with, however, I'm now looking at getting into a proper relationship and want to get MOT'd.

A friend of mine did it here.... He just walked into a clinic, and said that he wanted to get tested for all the usual stuff, including HIV.

They just made an appointment with him for when to come back, did blood tests, and called him in a couple weeks later to discuss the results.... I suspect, much like a N. American clinic would.

Funny thing was, he took advantage of his "negative results" to try and pick up one of the nurses at the clinic on his way out.

I can only imagine that conversation...

"Hey, sweetee. Can I call ya to go for dinner some time?"

"I'm sorry, but I don't date patients."

"Yeah, but look here. I'm clean & disease-free!"

hmmmm.... <shudders>

So what happens if you go get tested and it turns out you have something? Is getting an STD enough to make people not wanna hire you?

Has an employer ever asked if you have an STD? I suspect that if it is a job requirement to be clean, than they will test you themself rather than take your word for it. I know that some countries in the Middle East require you to take an AIDS test.

If you had it, wouldn't you want to know?
