I am attempting to return to the U.A.E. I have a CELTA and two years experience teaching adults in the ME. Does anyone know of any places currently hiring for immediate positions or the upcoming fall? ANYTHING at all?? Also I have a list of schools below that I have had a hard time finding email contacts for. If you know the email address or fax numbers to send a resume to for the following schools, it would be very beneficial. I am an American and ONLY interested in teaching EFL. So if you can also tell me which schools do not hire EFL teachers and/ or Americans, it would also help me narrow down my job search. Any contact info would help. Thank you.
Sharjah American International School
The Apple International Project

American Community School of A.D.

Hi meorbust,
I don't really know much about many of these places, but some of the schools/institutes you have listed are on this website:

Good luck |

OK... I have found this same post in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE. So, the truth is that you are looking for a job anywhere in the Gulf.
First off, about the only places that don't hire EFL teachers are the Islamic Schools and I have never heard of a place that didn't hire 'Americans.' Some schools may have preferences, but it is mostly needs versus availability.
Many if not most of the places you have listed in each country section have websites. Did you google them? There are also general sites for the countries or cities which may list school information.

Not many primary/secondary schools offer ESL here. As an American, you can forget working at any of the British curriculum schools, and most of the schools here are British. You can check these schools out
Dubai American Academy
American Academy for Girls (Dubai)
Sharjah American International School
Emirates International School (Dubai)
Dubai International Academy
Possibly
Ras al Khaimah English Speaking School |

Of course I am looking for a job anywhere in the Gulf. But does it make sense to put such a question in the general ME forum, as I will only get general answers. And I am looking for all info possible. Secondly, if I asked for the gulf generally in any one of the nation-specific forum sites such as this one, i would receive nothing but replies (some rude without a doubt) saying you need to ask about _________ in the ___________ forum!!!!!!!! . And finally, OF COURSE I have already attempted to google those schools that I listed. I should have provided more details. For all the schools I listed, I found email contacts, but the emails I sent were just returned unsent. So I was attempting to find either new contact info or confirmation that the school no longer existed. |

If you had already googled them and emailed them, that is likely an indication that they don't take email applications and don't answer emails. In other words, you pretty much have to be there to apply. But you didn't mention that did you? It looked mainly like you expected us to do all your work for you.
Your only option then is probably to call them. If you are in the US, get yourself one of those cheap long distance plans. I have seen some that have less than .10 a minute for some of the countries. TracFone International for instance. Then you can get a fax number from them.
BTW... university jobs require an MA.

Actually, it would. There are countries in which you are more likely to find work than in others, and the old ME hands on here know where to direct you. |

I noticed one institution that is currently hiring and was absent from your list. It's the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT). Colleges exist in Dubai, Al Ain, Fujeirah and Ras Al Khaimah.
Current jobs are listed at http://www.iat.ac.ae/viewjobs.asp
The main site lacks information but, I am told, is being worked on. It's at http://www.iat.ac.ae |
