Do you lead a healthier life here in Turkey or your own country?
Do you eat healthier food, exercise more here? What about the population in general?
I guess people usually have a better diet here.(There isn't the choice of all those gorgeous ready meals M&S have to offer) However, exercise and sport here, although better than it was, is still expensive or lacking in quality and quantity. It's like 'you want to do sport and be healthy, then you have to be rich.'
What do you guys reckon? |

Of course, it could just be foreign companies trying to expand into untapped markets. |
you mean like the partnership of kellogs and Ulker? Choco-pops and cheerios are going to be massive here. |

I definitely eat better here. It's a real joy to be able to cook with such fantatic ingrediants.
I don't exercise though, never did, and probably never will. |

I know it was a typo Baba, but did you mean fantastic or fanatical? i'm trying to imagine what a fanatical ingredient looks like. it involves a a masked carrot burning an effigy of Donald Duck... but I probably shouldn't go there. |

I've got a bag of fundamental sprouts in my fridge, and I can'T think of a any pun to end this sentence. |

Is this Scottish English? We buy strawberries and raspberries in punnets. Do punnets exist anywhere else?.

Yummy. A sprout isn't just for christmas.
Totally off-topic. Have you ever tried deep fried shredded sprouts?
Nah, me neither. Something to think about though. |

What is the cost for a monthly membership at a decent gym in Istanbul? And do you ever see people jogging down the streets and NOT running away from security for selling blackmarket books or vcds? |

The average local gym in Izmir is about 50ytl for a monthly membership but a lot of people jog in the city coz they have walks along the coast .The food is a lot healthier than back home all that low cost olive oil helps as well ,never ate so much fish or yoghurt till I came here .Thats on seperate occassions btw . |

Evidently ...
What about the smog factor on the lungs of you old timers ... used to be at least the equivalent of say 200 packs of Iki Bin a day ... |

The Cihangir Spor Salonu offers a 10% discount for teachers and 15% discount if you go only during the day. I signed up for 6 months and pay less than 100TL/mo
BTW, I went in search of a pool and found a decent one at the Marble Otel on Siraselviler but decided I wanted to do something else. I think they charge 125TL/mo. The pool is 30 m long I think. I will look again in the summer for an outdoor one.
International Sports in Sisli is a fabulous sports club, but spendy, at least $200/mo. They have a pool, tennis court, and all the machines. It is not convenient for me to go to and I did not have that much money to cough up at the time (i.e. two payments for the year). |
