Well I fell in love with groups like Duman, Mor ve Otesi, and Mustafa Sandal and Tarkan and Rafeat El Ramon when I was in Turkey last time. Also there is - of course - Ibrahim Tatlises, Ayca, and Ismael YK. However, I am a bit out of the loop at this point... does anyone know the names of popular Turkish groups/songs out right now?

I always like Nazan Oncel, Athena, some Karga, Badem, Ozlem tekin, pamela (again, sometmes). There's heaps more but I cant think right now because I am in Lisbon and have totally blocked out all things Turkish.

I just love the way Turkish pop music... pops! Razz Perhaps it is not the most talent-filled pool in the world, but it still sounds good. I'm not musically-inclined anyway, so it's all good to me.

I was zapping early Saturday evening and I caught Ha babam da babam. How come they are so popular. Listening to tuneless people whilst trying to stay on a rodeo horse Confused entertainment?

Actually, I was in between wines when I checked in. The hostel has free internet so I took a brief email pause in between bottles of 2 euro vino in the lovely gardens of the castle with people who have never heard of ataturk or orhan pamuk. Am not sure i can return to Doluca or other 8ytl plonk.

Must go eat lots of pork and drink lotsa wine. Woohoo!
