Im going to take my resume around and talk to a bunch of different schools. However, I know private lessons are also possible. My question is, how do I go about finding locals who may be interested in taking private lessons? Do I need to go to visit places in more affluent communities, such as Palermo? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks,
Rachel

It's mostly word-of-mouth, and it takes a while to build up. Tell everyone you meet that you give private lessons. Get business cards made up and give them out at the drop of a hat (also good for meeting boys). You might also want to post an ad in the paper. In my experience, flyers are next to useless.

Start with your "ambito de influencia" tell your portero (doorman, janitor?) and all your neighboors in the building you live....get personal cards ready and whenever you socialize mention that you give english private classes.....also you can try posting on CRAIGS LIST (BUENOS AIRES)...You can also put flyers at boards in some english institutes like UBA (they wont mind) the private ones will probably not allow it.

ASATEJ (travel agency) also has a board in their offices and many locals use that travel agency (www.asatej.com I think)....... post post post Smile spread the news.

cheers, suerte
