Hi!
Have been reading thru lots of old (and new) posts but of course everyone has their own set of circumstances and questions ... am hoping someone can point me in the right direction with mine
I am teaching English at a "bilingual" kindergarten in Hong Kong and will be moving to Tokyo with my boyfriend in July. I have a Bachelor's Degree and a 40hr certificate in TEFL so hopefully will be able to get a job teaching in Tokyo.
My question is, other than with the big language schools, am I likely to be able to get a job teaching? And if I do go with a Big 4 school, what are my chances of being able to work in Tokyo?
My boyfriend won't be teaching, but his company wants him to transfer to Tokyo ... we won't move there if I won't be able to work, so I'm just trying to figure out what my chances are
One last thing ... what's (anyone's) opinion on coming in on a tourist visa and expecting to be sponsored by a company?
Thanks so much |

Assuming that you are a native speaker of English, I think that you will find a job without huge difficulty. |

Yip - I'm a native English speaker ... born and raised in New Zealand until about 8 months ago
Thanks for the vote of confidence! |
